Has anyone used cheap ebay wireless triggers to connect your K10D to strobes? If so, what kind of wireless triggers were they? I’m looking for an alternative to the pc cable and want to pick up of these ebay triggers but I’m a little confused. Mainly because of the 1/180 sync speed- not being sure of the trigger is compatible with it. Also, are the 12v transmitters safe to use in the K10D hotshoe?

I understand that the 4, 8 and 16 channel triggers are more attractive than single channel units. If anyone has had an experience with these units, let me know, I’d appreciate it. I’m leaning towards a RD616 or on of these:

Can anyone identify or explain this flash meter a little bit? I bought it without any manual or documentation. I’m guessing you turn it on, set your iso, the max sync speed on your camera (1/180th on the K10D), fire the strobes and get the f-stop reading from the meter? And sliding the white dome controls incident versus reflective measuring mode?
I do wonder what the word MULTI means on the dial and the number listed to the left of it. Does the jack on the side of the meter mean I have to hook it up to my hot shoe?

I do wish I had the manual for this meter, if anyone can fill me in, I’d appreciate it.

Hi Guys, I figured I'd just add to the posting rather than make a new one. I shot these with my K10D and fa 50 1.4, tell me what you think. The rest of the set is here: http://www.kemal.ca/mine/thumbnails.php?album=40 if you feel like rating or commenting on something. Just looking for some feedback.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. If anyone wants to discuss the K10D operating at iso 1600, I shot all the pictures in the rest of the set here:
http://kemal.ca/mine/thumbnails.php?album=41 - after the 5th picture, it's all at iso 1600, I was pleased.

I shot in jpeg. There are great options for RAW processing, but if you tweak the K10D in camera jpeg processing to what you want and then make subsequent changes to iso, shutter, wb and aperture for the scene- jpeg is ok for me. I used the channels with b&w along with levels. Along with the unsharp mask. Dodging and burning also helps but photography isn't much fun with a zillion hours post-processing. Which is why I sold my 35 mm enlarger and development stuff.

I wasn't aware of a Mr. Potato Head soundbite professing his marital status- pretty funny though.

I took these with my K10D using the kit lens and a manual 55 mm lens from a KX. Tell me what you think, the rest of the set is at www.kemal.ca if these don't do it for you. Any comments would be appreciated.
