There's a bag snatcher in Budapest with a fine specimen of the Tam superzoom. If you find him let him know I want my kit back.

If there was someway that you could get this to Vienna cheaply and quickly (day or three) I'd be all over it. Bag snatcher grabbed my K-x (with all my lens bar 18-55 DAL) in Budapest. Insurance eases the cost burden but not the broken heart. The lack of availability of Pentax over means I'm going to probably have to get a Nikon

I've got a Pentax 50-200 4-5.6 DAL lens for sale. The lens is a kit lens that came with my K-x and has been seldom used. Front and rear elements are without scratches and there is no visible dust in the lens. Original cap is supplied with a lens saver. I'm looking for £65 including post within the UK using RMSD, or within the EU at buyers expense.

The 28 and 50mm lenses are great. Fast postage (Sadly let down Royal Mail's lowsy service). Thanks!

That does make sense actually. I didn't know that the focal length on DA lenses is stated in FF terms.

Thanks for your help

Well, as I understood it, the 50-200mm kit lens is a DA lens, thus made for the APS-C and therefore is uncropped. Whereas the Takumar is 135mm fullframe lens thus, if you applied the crop factor of 1.52, it should be equivalent to an APS-C lens focal length of 205mm.

Hi,

I'm relatively new to the forum and have what could be a silly question.

Although I've had my Pentax K-x for a while now, I'm only now looking to take advantage of all its benefits. So in the spirit of learning I picked up a 2.5/135mm Takumar Bayonet prime lens on the weekend to have a go at a fully manual lens. Prior to purchasing the lens I knew to expect that due to the APS-C crop factor the 135mm Takumar would give an equivalent focal length somewhere jsut above 200mm.

In toying around with the lens I was looking to compare the image quality with my Pentax 50-200mm kit lens and found the 135mm Takumar to take photos with an equivalent field of view to the Pentax 50-200mm when the latter was set to 135mm of zoom.

Am I missing something? Was I wrong to expect the Takumar to have a smaller field (greater focal length) of view than the pentax set at 135mm?
