Hi bforbes
Thanks for the info i've being looking into these since you sent me the link cheers
so to get this right the tubes are just a away to extend the lens to enable you to get closer to a subject rather than magnify your image like a +1 +2 or macro add on lens etc....
they seem cheap enough so i will invest in some of these to test them out at under £10 for the plain extension tubes its worth a try and i prefer manual focus anyway shooting close up macros so the more expensive auto tubes dont have me feeling like i want them just yet
cheers for the speedy reply and good info and friendly welcome to the forum

Hi all
Just got my first DLSR Pentax K-R and was pointed in this direction from the Ebay seller who was a very helpful man in deed.
So here i am im new to the dlsr world but i used to use my pentax slr film camera and my first digital was a sony FD88 so i have taken at least some pics in my past
I'm looking to get some macro lens for close up pics etc... so any info on some good older lens would be helpful on a small budget I cant afford the new lens out there in the £100's and they will be plenty of older lens out there that are still good im guessing
the kit i have up to now is
Camera
Pentax K-R DSLR
Pentax Mz-50 SLR
Pentax K-X dead camera no power
Lens + Filters
SMC Pentax DAL 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL
Sigma Zoom 1:3.8-5.6 uc 28-200mm
Sigma Zoom-0 1:3.5~4.5 f=28~80mm
Auto Chinon Multi-Coated 1:1.7 50mm
Camray Close up Lens set +1,+2,+4 +Macro 49mm
Hoya Skylight (1A) filter 49mm
Hoya Skylight (1B) filter 49mm
Hoya HMC Super UV(0) 72mm
Flash's
Sunpak auto140
Amaran Halo L.E.D AHL-C60

sunny well not so sunny york i guess as its done nothing but rain most of the day here as well with some nice lightning and v.loud thunder so ive tried to capture some rain as its being hitting the puddles to practice with my camera and some of the diff settings so every silver cloud has a lining as they say
