Hello, I have this lens for sale. Bought last September from one of the forum members (daltoned). Optical condition is excellent. I had high intentions for it, but after using it literally twice inside my house to take photos of the cat, it's been sat in a box with silica gel. I just have no time for anything besides the standard lenses right now.

I'm looking for £65 (delivered) to UK... ONO.

(payment can be by PayPal if no fees involved (or with fees on top), cheque (would wait to clear before posting) or bank transfer)

Thanks for reading,
Igor

Hello all, I want a fast prime lens for my K-X for low light/indoor photography. I've seen quite a few cheap P-A f1.7's on ebay, but would prefer to buy from someone here. The f1.7 is cheap enough for a dabble and to practice, and should suit me OK. But if someone has a spare P-A f1.4 and is willing to punt in with an offer, please do.

I realise someone asked for almost the same thing a few weeks ago, so if you still have one to sell, now's your chance

Cheers,
Igor

Ah, thanks for the tip on SRS postage Stefan

I'll see how it goes with the CPL filter, but I'll be aware that it's probably most useful on sunny days. I'm going to the Lake District in June - seems like the perfect place to use one, with all those hills and water.

Hi, thank you both. I've decided to get a Hoya CPL filter, and just a clear glass Hoya protector, both reduced quite nicely. Since I got a free Hoya UV filter with the camera, might as well stick that on one of the lenses anyway - but I'll keep an eye on any flare in photos.

That cambridgeincolour website is very useful too!

Edit - apologies if referring to suppliers is against forum policy, please let me know if it's not done, but I thought you might like to know that there is currently 20% off Hoya Pro-1 D filters at UK Optics..

Hello all,

I'll roll an intro in with a first post if you don't mind

I am finally dipping a toe into DSLR photography. I enjoy spotting a good scene and framing a shot and the limitations of P&S were getting to me. I nearly bought a Panasonic 'bridge' camera, but after trying it, I wasn't happy with the user interface and the photos it took. So now I have a Pentax K-X coming on Friday I've got the kit 18-55mm lens, and picked up an as-new DA 50-200mm for £89 - so I'll be finding my feet with this combination. I might be asking quite a few questions in the near future as I am new to all this and even after a lot of furious research some stuff doesn't always make sense. This forum looks very friendly and helpful!

My first question is about the aforementioned filter. Here it is:

http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/4322/Hoya-52mm-HRT-Circular-Polarising---UV-Len...

I will be mostly shooting scenery outdoors, often with sky in it, so a polarising filter seems necessary. I came across this UV/PL combo, which looks - on the face of it - a great idea (and cheaper than buying the two separately). I got one free UV filter with my camera, and was thinking of putting that on the 50-200mm lens, and the UV/PL filter on the 18-55mm lens. I would be grateful for your opinions on the pros and cons of this combo filter, and whether I could just keep it almost permanently on the lens that I'll be mostly using for outdoor shots. Also, dumb question #1 - is it OK to use a PL filter when it's a bit overcast?

Many thanks in advance,
Igor
