Photoshop Elements is cheaper and would be all you need for your post processing.

Same as the other comments Paul. If you aren't using autofocus, then focus manually on the sheep, otherwise, as Maria says, press the shutter half way until it is in focus.

Its a good shot of the kite.Pity you couldn't have caught it when it was flying towards you.
If you use Photoshop or any similar software, then I would be tempted to increase the brightness in 'levels'and maybe a little sharpening. Otherwise, considering the lens you were using, its a good capture.
