After the war Bradford replaced it's trams with trolley buses, and much missed they are too. The last one ran in the 70s.
Every so often some smart a*** suggests trolleys as a possibility.
I need wine now!

Trams? What you really need is a guided busway like the one in Cambridge. Also cost several squillion and buses have to join the rest of the traffic in Cambridge itself. Pure genius...
...after several years disruption installing the damn thing in one of the busiest roads they could find, and despite being told it wouldn't work by a German city that installed and then removed one, we now have a means to move buses into position to cause a traffic jam faster than ever.
Who said it was a waste of money....

It's only when they are no longer with us that we miss them, and others discover how fabulous they were.
Beerday morning and a trip to Morribunds as I'm looking after myself tonight. Mrs HG is out in Lancaster with Honesty for the night.
So, curry and beer need buying, and cat food as the mighty ginger one is also hungry...

Hull? We got off the ferry on Monday last and was surprised at the new buildings that are along the A63 at the centre's edge, very smart.
They hide the past and make Hull look as though somethings actually been done to improve things.

We used to have a Spitfire fly into Leeds Bradford Airport a few years back, but that was a while back. the one that flew over looked like the BoB flight Recon one.
Change subject, bought 40 pint beer kit yesterday, cleaning buckets today, may start brewing at the weekend, it's a while since I last did any home brew...
