Unless they're both the same make and focal length that is.
Whether you can get a usable lens out of the pile of bits will be dubious.

i also have a relative who has loads of ex-film pentax lenses that i could try out, although all of them are manual focus, which i find quite a drag.
Try some of his lenses to see which you like, then look for the equivalent AF one.

My daughter ( her PU name is Honesty!) loves both.
She does scrambled eggs as a snack and enjoys omelettes.
As does the boss (she makes a great omelette!), me, I'll eat anything and no it isn't one of the five a day Cedric.
Neither is beer, which is a whole food.
