I tried getting a compact for my kids..

....but the shop wouldn't do the swap!!

I like the look of the Q range, but find a cheap Optio fits my needs better.

I use a 2nd hand Optio E90, and don't want even more lenses so...

Go for the Q1!

If you get the wife a K-01 you could loose the 40-XS to her...

Mind, that gives a good excuse for more of the old LBA to be relieved.

Well I've survived my first week of motorcycle commuting. I even did my first biker bit of driving when I went past a bus and there was no room to get a car through.

I thought I was going to get through today without stalling but still managed it once. Really haven't mastered slow riding yet.
You'll get there, I have. After 36 years riding I still stall bikes from time to time...

....it's not as embarrassing as stalling a Transit van in rush hour traffic though...

I get my beer in bulk from Booths.

They do good offers on unusual beers, that's how I discovered the delights of Adnams, Jennings and the like.

Buying them in boxes of 8/12 for £1/£1.5 a bottle.

Mmmm, Cocker Hoop.....

...................cheers!

This time last week I was in france, temperatures in the 20s.

We've had the fire lit the last three nights as 15 degrees in a damp climate feels sooo much colder!

What happened to summer, did I blink?

Massive disaster on the catering front! Went to pull an ale out of the cupboard only to find an empty space. Nothing, zilch not even one rolled to the back and here am I pulling out of a bout of "Man flu."

I didn`t get where I am today by running out of ale.
It's at times like that I resort to the emergency G'n'T

A trick learnt many years ago..

...only bring back wine from abroad.

Beer gets drunk to quickly where as an equivalent volume of wine lasts a heck of a lot longer.

Unless there's a certain Mrs HG and it's rose in a fridge...

We usually get 5L ones from Super U, but opted to try a 10L one as well this year, it's rose so getting it in the fridge may be a problem...

...although a certain Swedish friend sudgested removing the box...

Why does 1.99euro Cote du Rhone from Lidl in Provence taste better than the £5.99 stuff at home?

Is it just proof that the French really do send us all the cr*p stuff?
