I think one reason why we Pentax users tend to be overly sensitive to matter such as these at hand is the bargain underdog status of the brand. If a Canon or Nikon lens or a camera body fails in some department or another, the customers get disappointed but know there's almost always something better to upgrade to if needed. Usually with bigger brands, put enough money on the counter and you'll get something that pleases you. But being a sad Pentax user one usually has nothing to upgrade to, nothing to look up to.

The messages on PF are marked as Latvian, but they are actually (bad) English even though that poster tells in another topic s/he is originally from the UK. Go figure.
