Sorry Mark, Entered my co-ordinates into box instead of yours by mistake, bright & sunny here 18c+. Been working all day, just come in for a cuppa and picked up your message.
Checked with the Oracle and I am now out of credit for weather, and it looks like you wont need a grey card this next week where you are so sending you a few of these. Pete

Thanks Chaps, I am going to try printing onto canvas or board and then apply the varnish. Any ideas as to where I can get the varnish Algi, is it a 'special' or do you think diy stuff will do?

Hi Darkmunk, Welcome to the land of 'The Big Image'.
Looking forward to your print posts. I have left over from my film days 3 full box packs of E110s Kodak Pro Ektachrome and a box pack of Portra 160vc, all 120. I found them in the fridge, they are out of date but I bet they are still ok. If you want them foc, pm me and I will post them to you.
Good luck with the new kit.

Hi All,
In the good old days of film, there was a process where a print surface could be finished to resemble an old oil painting
(Dried, cracked oil)
I would guess it is possible to achieve this with digital images, if so, does anyone know how to do it or someone who does?
I have had a shufty on the web, to no avail.

Many thanks for the advice etc. Am doing a bit of price surfing and comparing brands.
Is there such a thing as a printer dedicated to photo reproduction?
The HP I have is great for text etc. but photo quality is not brill.
I am using genuine HP cartridges and good quality paper but get banding and blurring and colours are not representative of the screen image.
Still not sure yet which way to go, keeping the nose to the stone.
