Terrific shot. The light effects vary so much with Kingfishers. My 150-500 can be good as well. It's nothing like as bad as some reviews say or those with the £5k lenses like to think!

Great feather detail and an interesting ginger shade - had me wondering what it was till I opened the thumbnail! Dave

Nice capture Tom

Fabulous Buzzard image. Not easy to get that.

Always great to see and this is a classic shot.

Great image and I can always pop out and try and take it myself! Dave

I like this with the blurred background and concentration on the foreground.

Great balance of sharpness and wing blur.

Clever and nice illustrative looking shot.

A fabulous bird and a lovely shot. Maybe crop a bit off the right and top so there isn't that bit of distracting branch in the corner and so it is less central? We were very lucky to have one of these coming into our urban garden in the cold winter of 2010 and 2011. It would come and take mealworms from our patio and I managed some decent shots, but as you say very tricky to get this close.
