I meant that it applies to other makes. I saw a review that said the K01 had one of the best screens only having problems in very bright conditions.

Thanks Barry. Mine is second hand. I thought it would be a good light weight camera coupled the 18-135. I was on the moors recording the boundary stones and found myself guessing what the photo was going to be.

Looking at the screen in the house the viewing is ok. Perhaps it is best used as an indoor camera. Other mirrorless cameras I have seen seem to have a better screen to use as a viewfinder.

Did you get that with the camera or is it a diy accessory?

I have only used the camera outdoors in dullish light and found the screen difficult to see. Any tips?

Hello,

Keep watching the' local meets' section of the forum as you could meet some of us and see what the different Pentax systems are like to handle. There are also lots of good deals and kit to be found in the 'classified' section and in the 'Leads to deals'.

Ask as many questions as you can here as there is an incredible amount of knowledge and experience. No question is considered daft. I have learned loads over the last few years.

Above all relax and enjoy you photography some people take it far too seriously

I have been talking to the RSPB at Leighton Moss reserve. They can offer a private tutor session of at least 3 hours at the reserve for £25 per hour. This covers two people. The sessions are run by Mike Malpass and include guidance, advice and tips on fieldcraft. The first hour is indoors the rest is putting theory into practice outdoors. The times and dates are decided by the participants.

Would any one like to share such a session with me thus halving the cost? As a member of the RSPB I can get the session for £20 per hour.
