Did a little research and theres some conflicting reports on this.
Some say it can be potentially damaging others say otherwise but im curious as to why they report correctly in Nikon and Canon but not Pentax. But as Mr. Mellow stated Sigmas answer is to return it to them or the retailer.
Will call Sigma on monday and see what they say.

My 50-500mm is reported as a 170-500mm. Maybe its something to do with the fact Sigma reverse engineered the Pentax K mount.
All report the exact lens used precisely.
These include. Siggy 10-20, Tokina 12-24, Siggy 24-70, Siggy 100-300mm f4 EX.

Screenie using Adobe Bridge (latest version.)
Just to point out, the very latest version of Bibble pro has no idea in hell whats its dealing with which is really strange as it is usually spot on.

Craig. I have a Sigma 120-500mm HSM lens and I am happy with it. The only thing is that it seems to have the chip for the 150-500mm HSM lens fitted, when viewing the exif data it tells me that the lens is a Sigma 150-500mm hsm. Sigma tell me that this may affect the aperture. Try reading the exif data and see what it tells you about your lens.
My next Question is ...How do i fix it?

Thought the primes would have been a lot better though.

Lots of tests have been done now and its pretty obvious that once again there are issues with some or all of my gear.
50mm f1.4 improves greatly at -10 Focus Adjust but still seems to be begging for more.
16-45 - seems to want -8 focus adjust.
Sigma 120-400mm or is it 70-200 f2.8 or is it 150-500mm - Seems to be no improvement with Focus adjust at any setting but in order to get acceptable results it really needs a minimum f8-f9 which if we are being totally frank you would get great results with any lens at those apertures.
I was looking over some older pictures when i was doing the Photome Lens ID test and came across a few Sigma 100-300mm f4 EX DG pictures.
The 100-300mm is a lot sharper at f4 than my 120-400 is at f8.
I realise its not a proper comparison due to several factors but when you see how good sigma lenses can and should be it makes you wonder whats gone wrong.
