Whatever happened to this foxglove?

My gardening wife tells me that is called 'fasciation' and sometimes occurs on the tip of the main stem or flowers of foxgloves, delphiniums and other plants. Roger

Full power

A great shot - especially at Browser width. The track looks decidedly iffy at that point though, with the loco definitely listing to starboard....

It is a hoverfly - which one? Difficult to say as there are so many of these little flies. My best guess is Sphaerophoria taeniata (male). So there! :D

We may be common...

Excellent shot. Now would you please tell me how you managed to persuade a Blue to open its wings long enough to be photographed?:D Roger.

Messing About on (and in) the River*

I remember it well, a gentle and evocative song with water effects and the sound of oars in rowlocks. And I had two years of freedom left  A great picture too.

Hummingbird Hawk Moth

A fabulous shot ! They only appear in our garden very briefly once a year. After many attempts I have yet to get a satisfactory photograph.

Ineffable crime?

Speckled Wood Butterfly

I believe it's a butterfly, which one? Depends on the colour rendering of the shot but I favour the female 'Speckled Wood' by it's markings. Roger

Eastern Pondhawk ?

I'd go for a (male) Keeled Skimmer - and it is a cracking shot! Regards Roger
