Oh dear George.. How pathetic .. You now have to stoop to sarcasm . You have devastated me with your wisdom and wit..
Thanx.. Thanx.. Thanx..
And I wrote 'Thanx' deliberately since you state that you never answer people who spell thanks with an 'x'

Don.. Thanx for your suggestions most of which.. plus a few others.. were tried without success prior to contacting Pentax and Interfit.. .. However, it's now water under the bridge, since I have a wireless trigger.

I would have expected nothing less than the crap you've come out with George.. Always the smart-arse..

Strange how you seem to have the solution.. Were you not one of the 800 who read my initial post .. which generated 0 replies..

John...
Interfit could not have been more helpful.. They suggested a solution.. it worked .. Not that it matters now as I have bought a wireless trigger.

The flash fired as advertised when used with my Fuji S7000, my flashmeter, and my friend's Nikon.. which is why I suspected the Pentax. The reverse of your arguement.. do you expect Interfit to test their flashes against every camera then.

Like golfdeisel in your defence of Pentax you miss the point. Pentax don't support third party accessories connected to their cameras.. By the same token then you wouldn't expect Interfit to support third party cameras connected to their flash units. If that were the case where does that leave the customer.. With no support. And by their attitude Pentax don't care.

My love affair with Pentax is over. After more than 20 years of commitment to the brand I now realise that they really don’t care too much about you.
Some weeks ago I queried a compatibility problem between my *istDS and some Interfit studio lights. The response was basically that it was Interfit’s problem, not Pentax’s. They say they don’t provide technical support when using non-Pentax accessories.
A letter of complaint elicited a phone call from them after nearly 5 weeks, reiterating that same point. I then stated that Pentax do not make studio flash, therefore we studio photographers have no option but to use third party flash units. The chap on the phone merely repeated the company line, i.e. it’s the flash manufacturer’s problem, not Pentax’s. I pointed out that Interfit does not make cameras and if they adopted the same attitude as Pentax, where does that leave the customer ? But the chap was not for turning.. it is not Pentax’s problem.
I left him in no doubt that my next purchase would most definitely not be a Pentax.
End of rant and a sad end to a long association..

Does anyone know whether Pentax make any studio flash equipment. From their website, it would appear not. Also, can anybody supply me with the name and title (MD.. CEO.. Chairman .. or whatever he/she is called. ) of the head of Pentax UK.
Thanx

Unfortunately, and for the life of me I cannot understand why, Pentax appears to be the odd-man out in the photographic press. It's very much the Spitfire/Hurricane syndrome.. The Hurricane did an outstanding job, the Spitfire got all the glory..

Is anyone using their *istDS with Interfit EX150A flash units using a hotshoe/pc adaptor and sync lead and if so, do you have the same compatibility problem as me. Once plugged in and powered up, the flash fires once only and refuses to fire again. If I remove the sync cable pc plug and then replace it the flash then again fires once only. I've contacted Pentax about the problem, but they don't seem interested because I'm not using Pentax flash which I think is a bit narrow-minded of them. I'm awaiting a reply from Interfit..

This may sound silly.. but I presume you've removed the transparent plastic protective cover from the lcd display. Just a thought..
