Paul: Sorry, I remember now from your first photo that you are in Sweden. Abisko is close to Narvik and rather a long distance from Trondheim. I was watching out for the Northern Lights here on Friday, but there was only very weak activity. I hope you have more clear skies and Northern Lights during your stay in Sweden! Regards Bjørn

Great shot! You are fortunate to be on Iceland. Here in Trondheim there were only very dim auroras to be seen this weekend. Regards Bjørn

Wonderful image! Regards Bjørn

Lovely image of a magnificent landscape! Best regards Bjørn

Lovely shot! I am glad that the elusive aurora made an appearance and that you had clear skies. Minus 20 is really cold:shock: Hope to see more of your shots! Best regards Bjørn

Dave: I have not seen any of these in or around Trondheim. According to an article I read just now, they breed in the mountainous areas of Sweden and Norway, and when winter comes they travel south. Maybe they are in Trondheim during March-October? I will keep a look out, they are beautiful birds! Best regards Bjørn
