Just had a look at my film cameras.
The Super A exhibits brassing on both top and bottom plates, so clearly aren't plastic. The P50 has a plastic top plate, but bottom plate also has brassing.

Im pretty sure my Super A has brass top and bottom plates and exhibits some brassing from use, either that or my P50 does, cant remember which one (or both).
I understand how brassing occurs though thank you.

I still don't get people trying to falsely make their camera look used. Its a tool, not a fashion accessory! Although I do wonder when I see the number of colour combinations for K30 / K50 / KS1 / KS2s!

I don't get the point of doing that at all.

If you ever go to sell it you've effectively devalued it by making it look like it hasn't been looked after. Odd.
Just to add, my Super A body has little or no wear or brassing on it and thats bordering on 30 years old.

I've recently bought a K50 and updated the firmware from v1-00 to v1-01. I've seen that on the N American support page that there is a firmware v1-02.
Should I stay on the newest UK firmware or "upgrade" it to v1-02?

Long time Pentax user, Im on the Isle of Wight and looking at getting a K30 or K50.
Should go nicely with my older Pentax kit (P50, Super A etc).
