Aha. Something I've struggled with. I and some friends followed the legendary Alvin Lee round Europe until he sadly left us in 2013. I too was unhappy with a Fuji bridge camera. My best results were with a K100D and a non-digital Pentax 80-200 zoom. See if I can include a shot here.

Agree with Cabstar that a K5 II should be fine. It's 10 times better than a K100D and I was ready with one for the Paris concert, cancelled after Alvin's demise. I'd always use a telephoto, unless you can get really close.

Biggest issues are speed - I guess different artists use different lighting effects but I found there wasn't too much light - and the colour of those damn stage lights - Alvin's were predominantly red and blue. Gave me a lot of work to do in Lightroom

I've been lurking for a while but it's time to praise this forum for the invaluable info and help here. I've been a Pentax user since starting with an excellent KX 40 years ago and have been bumbling along with different models since then.

Six months ago, I decided to upgrade and, noticing how much love and respect people showed towards the K5, I took the plunge and bought a K5 II. What a superb camera! It compensates wonderfully for all my photographic failings. Thank you all those members whose posts pointed me in the right direction.
