I bought my first SLR in the mid 1970's, one of the the main choice decisions of the day was either Aperture Priority or Speed Priority (it was either or). Considering Aperture Priority to be the most important for my photography, I bought the ME Super. It was new on the market and it was not long before I had nearly every lens and accessory that Pentax made, well it was my first SLR! Then I disovered 'Slides', today I have thousands stored from those days with my ME and they still look great, I keep promissing myself that one day I will put them on to a digital format such as DVD so that they can be used more conveniently.
In 1980 I was sent overseas by my company and soon found a local photography club, over the 9 years I was overseas my ME and I won a few small awards in the club, they were good times for photography.
Sadly in 1989, my Pentax ME Super collection and I parted company. Came back to the UK after that and bought a new one - a Canon 35mm film camera, why, I do not know after all my Pentax ME Super had captured my family growing up and everything else as it was always with me. Next came Digital and althought I thought it was not for me, I was after all a gadget freak so I bought a Canon EOS 30D. I already had some lenses from my 35mm Canon so I had a small but growing kit.
There is one thing that concerns me though, I am not a novice when it comes to using an SLR and exposure and other setting, even White Balance has been overcome but no matter what I, I still need software to TWEAK and change the settings before showing or printing.
With my ME, I just sent off the roll of fill (pre-paid) and a few days later back came a perfect set of slides, perfectly exposured that lit up the room with clear, bright, perfectly focused slides. Oh how I miss my ME Super.
As Digital has now become almost the standard format today I see that older film cameras are very cheap to buy secondhand, but is it too late to buy a decent Pentax ME Super, if not, what condition can I expect for a good one?
Regards to all
David

Is this camera still open to offers?
If so, how do I start and make an offer?
