In my quest to find a 500mm lens I have found a Sigma 170-500mm f5/6.3 APO lens. It looks in good condition but has a fungus/mould on the inside of the front lens. Can this be cured or is this a definite AVOID at all costs. I wish I knew more!

I'm looking at this lens as my first long lens. The seller tells me it's all spot on. I wasn't expecting an AF lense at this length. Are these Ok or would I be better with a manual? Regards Rich

Great advice, I will avoid a teleconvertor. I have been monitoring eBay for about a month now for a decent 400mm. I will seek your advice should I find anything. Thanks Rich

I'm new to my Pentax, I'm particularly enjoying wildlife photography. My biggest lens is a Tamron 18-250. I have been scouring eBay for a reasonably priced long lens 400mm. Would I be better buying a teleconvertor for my Tamron? What do you think? Thanks Rich

Hello, have any of you been to one of these fairs? I'm looking for a long manual lens to play with and someone said these fairs are good for picking up cheap/reasonable lenses. I'm an absolute beginner who is keen to build up a few lenses. I can't afford long AF lenses. Interested to hear from you, Thanks Rich

Hello everyone, I have recently joined the DSLR world by buying a friends immaculate K10D with a kit lense and Tamron 18-250mm. I got excited and purchased an immaculate Sigma 600mm mirror lense. I'm hoping to get some nice nature shots with this lense. I have just returned fro a two week holiday in the New Forest and got some excellent shots. I'm a Pentax fan, I am surprised about the Nikon / Canon snobbery, why is this? Speak soon Rich.
