You have captured a fantastic image making a fly look interesting and engineered . Perfectly lit

I second, third and fourth that. That greeny-yellow colour also is a huge attention-grabber. Thank you for sharing this great macro. By the way, I love doing closeups in Live View. What reservations do you have about it, if I may ask, derek?

Well constructed image. As said, the bright colour works really well.
Dunno about Derek, but the constant slapping and banging of the mirror in LV does my head in (as they say).
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thanks,
On the LV question, i shoot macro handheld, as i always end up in bushes, under bushes leaning over bushes.
I found that when trying out LV, the only way to get enough stability was to hold the camera at arms length pushing against the neck strap. The problem then was that the camera was too far away to see where my focus was. I did try out magnified LV but that was a disaster as any movement was in turn magnified, resulting in me losing the complete bug from sight.
Its just not for me thats all.
I know what i like, If not always why.
