Wreck of the SS Nornen
by bwlchmawr
Driven onto mudflats near Berrow, Somerset, in 1897, the Norwegian barque SS Nornen's crew were all rescued by the Burnham lifeboat. Its ribs, hung with seaweed, still remain today.

Come along now, Andrew!
This is an excellent photographic record of the SS Nornen & a fitting tribute to the universal courage of the Lifeboat Men (of then AND now).
But....
A "Bwlchmawr" image......
Not quite!
Coker.

I'll come clean, Larry, since you say such nice things... the light was a real problem. This was the best of about a dozen shots. Just look at the contrast between those bright white clouds and the dark ribs! I had to split the shot into two and process the sky separately before using Photoshop's Highlight/Shadow filter.
The colour, however, is "right" and not subject to over saturation.
It really needs a dawn visit or, at least early morning with a dark sky and the light behind where I'm standing.
That's probably why Roger is a bit underwhelmed. I even tried to paste in a new sky, but it wouldn't work!

Nice shot Andrew, now you know the problems I have here in Spain with the bright sunshine, anything white in a photo is always a problem,

This is a great shot Andrew. The composition, the colours, the lights are beautiful. I like the contrast and shape of the boat skeleton too.
