Which is it ?

Had a flock of these call today. Just can't decide quite what they are, even after going online and checking RSPB. Come on you Birdwatchers.

I think its a Fieldfare, not uncommon this time of year in the UK usually seen in largish groups often in hedgerows bushes or trees where there may be berries, sometimes in groups on farm land. When spooked they usually all fly off together and settle again just far enough away to stop you getting a decent photo. Similar size to a Thrush but without the grey head as this one does. Redwings are similar but they have a distinct red flank which makes them look as if their wings have a red lower edge..

I think I might go with you on that David. I was torn between the two. but I blew up the photo and had a closer look. Whether its because of the amount of snow we had today and the fact we have loads of fruit (berries)bearing trees. Never seen them in the numbers witnessed today.

I did try, Honest Guv! but they flew of as soon as I opened the door or window
