What a modest K-r can do
by Grodgeman
Do we really always need all those pixels, whistles and bells? Taken with a 16-45 - almost a museum piece in itself. Admittedly, would not be able to stand very much enlarging, or if you glue your nose onto it, but fine for mundane photography. Good enough on a Mac retina screen. And the K-r (as well as the K-50) can use life-saving R6 batteries. Shall not be sold to anyone, anywhere, ever.

Plenty of things to look at in that shot, Jerzy, and the K-r does them proud.
Also an interesting colour treatment.
As Mag07 says, pixels aren't everything and my K-r is carried around with an 'alternative' lens to the one in use on my K50.
My recent shot of Hutcheson's Monument (posted on 30/9/16) is a case in point - when I checked the map today I was amazed to find that the monument was 8 miles away from where I took the shot ! And as you point out I can swap batteries between the two bodies.
Best regards
Peter

As PeterKE says, "pixels aren't everything" and a K-r is a good workhorse to carry around as something that does the job without paying a heavy price if things go wrong. If it is all just to post on this site, pixels do not really matter. Personally, the K-r has become a thing of affection, doing its job through southern Africa (more than 9000 photos) and the USA and snowbound eastern Europe -- and never complaining. With not a mass of setting that one has to worry about having perhaps badly chosen. Less, here, might really be more, or - here, at least - enough.

That said, I still occasionally grab the K100D. It's nice and light and I love it's jpg rendering engine. When not needing RAW, I love to use it with the old kit lens it came with. So many of our family photos are taken with it. Don't see myself selling it, ever
