Waterhead Pier

by LennyBloke

Taken on a gentle warm evening last week at Waterhead, the top end of Lake Windermere, just a few minutes walk from Ambleside. The sun going down through the trees has cast a nice glow catching swarms of insects in the air above the lake and if you look carefully there is a small starburst where the disc of the sun is partially obscured by the trees. Of all my 50mm lenses I find that the SMC Pentax-F 50mm Macro really handles shooting into the sun the best.

This is definitely better when viewed at full size

I've just noticed that the starburst and insects don't show properly at full size - the bigger image on Flickr shows up much better... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54535085202_f2056618cd_3k.jpg

An excellent composition and POV. Mellow, charming and candidate for POTW. Like.
