War Memorial - Budapest

A 40 metre long memorial. 'Shoes on the Danube Bank' gives remembrance to the 3,500 people, 800 of them Jews, who were shot into the Danube during the time of the Arrow Cross terror in 1945

Difficult to 'like' this one. A poignant statement that underlines so many current horrors as well.

Isn't it strange. We can argue with others about the relative merits of, say, car A versus car B, or hotel X versus hotel Y, without coming to blows. But when it is differences in undefinable beliefs, the argument can so often end with fatality.
