Many thanks.

The Vulcan was a big attraction at Farnborough this year. It flew on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. My picture was taken on Saturday at the "town" end of the runway. I also took pictures of it at the other end of the runway on Wednesday but it was very cloudy and grey so not good for photography.

I first saw a Vulcan in flight around 30 years ago at a Greenham Common air show. Then after take-off, at the end of the runway, it went vertical and the ground shook. The Vulcan at Farnborough was treated with some care doing around 3 gentle passes. I guess this was because so much effort has been put into restoring it as well as to protect its future life.

You can see some of my other Farnborough pictures here:

Hi Glyn,
A stunning shot of one of the most beautiful aircraft built (IMHO).

Great photo! You captured it nicely. My youngest son would like that photo very much indeed. His fav plane.
We were there too on the Saturday. Very little chance to move around and photograph, had to keep a watchful eye on Sam all the time. Just too busy. We ended half way down the runway near the grandstand. Although we perhaps got the best view of the Apache.

Such a shame they are talking about the Vulcan being grounded forever. I think the deadline for finding the funds (£500K) was today in fact. If they didn't raise it they would have to let the restoration staff go and there would be little to no chance of maintaining the old bird.
