Great shot Roy I too have this flower in my garden its an Aquilegia(granny's bonnet)vulgaris.Nice comp.pb

I agree with pb. it's an Aquilegia, or Columbine as it's sometimes known, the beauties come in many different colours,bi coloured and single,of all the colours I have in the garden I don't have a solid red one like this, this shot is really nice and well composed.

I like it that you have added the small bud as well, it adds to the impact of the shot.

To be a tad picky I would clone out the white bits on the lower leaf and the one close to the tip of the bud. Just me being picky like I say.
