Old granite...

I found the vast size and bulk of some of the stones quite remarkable. The colouring also varied a great deal.
Here is one good example.
Nowadays the granite is used to create curling stones, and it is highly possible that Trefor granite was in use during this winter’s Olympic Games (as it was in 2006).

That's really neat! I always thought that curling stones were cast in some way.
Now I'm humbled, and thanks for helping our Canadian curlers do so well!
Oh, and good picture as well - that's what drew me here in the first place.
