A sigh of relief as I hadn't seen him for a while.I've noticed a lot of people wondering whether the Tamron 70-300mm is any good.Well yes it is,as above photo taken at max 300mm and sharpened slightly.

Wow! I have seen a lot of birdie pictures this wee while on the site but, hey look at me "I am Cock Robin" look out lassie's I'm on the block great pic, good depth of field even at f5.6 on a 300mm lense regards Ron

Sorry! I do believe the term is "good selective focus" ...or whatever RJS

good result. I too find the Tamron to be fine until you get into high contrast situations. I also find AWB bad on this lens, but in daylight conditions with Daylight WB the colours come alive. This pic shows was quality you can achieve from a budget lens. The sky hasn't been that blue where I live for 4 months
