Cloisters, Manostier

by jezgreenaway

Visited by RL Stevenson 150 years earlier during his Travels On A Donkey in the Cevennes region of France, the old cloisters at Manostier's huge old church have fallen into decay since. A nice brooding subject now!

Really nice photo, BW suits the subject very well and excellently composed.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I think the name of the place is Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille although I don't remember seeing this cloister in the old church. Can you confirm this?
I followed the path taken by the famous writer of "Treasure Island", the Stevenson trail or GR70 goes across Auvergne, Cevennes and Languedoc-Roussillon through Haute-Loire, Ardeche, Lozere and Gard department, mainly at a height of about 1000 meters and the scenery is absolutely wonderful! I took great photos with my old camera!
Anyway, nice shot!
