Under the wires
Photo of the Week by davidtrout
You've managed to turn the electrification infrastructure (which would ordinarily be considered a detraction) into a big plus.
The shot quite literally wouldn't have the same impact for me were it absent.
By juxtaposing the two...electric and steam, you've managed to create a whole new element to the image as well that goes beyond the purely visual.
Really good.
Karlo
David, that's a brilliant shot; you've achieved a unique and distinctive perspective on a very well photographed locomotive. Well done!
Thanks
Cracking shot.

Super compo and timing (image choice)
Great photograph.
David
Pretty good. Try a tonal B&W?
I'll give that some thought
David
Best regards
Thanks all,

I echo what Karlo said... without the infrastructure, it would have just been yet another "steam train coming towards the camera" shot!!
I also love the graphic nature of the cantenary system which also wouldn't be seen like that without the smoke [except perhaps on a misty morning...]
Lovely.
