How do you get them to stay so still?

Very good I think. I've tried to snatch some shots in the allotment given today's sun, handheld with the Sigma 105mm macro. Absolute rubbish with any bee/flying thingy. The only decent shot I did get was a beetle, who was clearly on death's door and stayed still for the duration! Do you know what ratio the actual shot was? I find things get exponentially harder the closer I get to 1:1.

for a hand held macro shot at 1/250sec, you have done very well.
