Watery sunset

by mcrtchly

In mid Winter the sun sets behind the sea arch at Crohy Head, Co. Donegal, Ireland. It's a dangerous descent of a steep slippery slope and a rope assisted climb down the cliffs to reach the beach. But this is not the worse part of the location as algal covered rocks threaten a slip and fall whilst the incoming tide rapidly swamped the tripod. This photo is a stack of 20 frames from a sequence of 300 photographs for a timelapse. A vintage Pentax 20mm manual lens gives a great depth of focus.

POTW candidate IMO. The contrast between the golden horizon and everything else injects extra drama into this somewhat surreal seascape. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
