My Son

I am new to photography but would love your comments on this picture. I shot it in auto mode on a Pentax KR with the 18-55mm kit lens. I don't mind brutal, it's the only way to learn

Do you really want my comments Dean? It might be a bit dangerous seeing as we work at the same place!!

Same as I said at work, the portrait is gorgeous, just needs the exposure taking down a stop or so to prevent the lighter areas from bleaching out.

Looking forward to seeing some more!!

PS: Please don't put any rude comments on my pictures!

Lovely baby but its overexposed, look at some of my earlier photos I did exactly the same thing, couldn't wait to get going, you soon get the hang of it, I bet David will help you out, I have the same camera too.saying all this you have really caught his lovely expression and the colour pop in the eyes is very good. Cheers and keep at it Trixie

Just started and you're color popping already?
Once you've learned your way around the camera you'll want to give up the total automation and start setting things yourself.
In the meantime, welcome to photography and to the gallery.
Paul.
