Evening Sunflowers

by darkskies

I went out to try my new Hitech grads. Sky was difficult with the band of bright in the middle with dark above.

Decided to have a play around with the shot with Colour Efex and Lightroom, and ended up with this.

I like it, but it may not be everyone's "tasse de thé!"

A pleasing shot. Worth returning in "good" light, I reckon.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Great shot Neil, however, I think the light was against you here as the bright band has burned out a little, probably unavoidable due to the massive dynamic range this image has.

Yes, it has burned out a little, not due to the initial shot, I don't think, but due to excessive post processing without due diligence! Maybe a touch of both.

Anyway, I took this to try out the filters and I'm happy with them, considering how difficult the light was.

This year I'm really going to try to up my landscape game, and the filter purchase was the first step.

Onwards and upwards!

Eye catching and of course highly dynamic, I'd be very pleased! Looks cool too if you crop a little bit up to where the soil ends in the bottom left and take same amount off the top IMO
