Steppes

by aliengrove

The Russian steppes from 30000 feet. Taken with my Sigma 24mm Super-wide II (exif shows 28mm as I had set the focal length on the camera to 28mm)

Very interesting - looks like tiles on a pool floor.

Love the cloud street as well. What a sight a horde of Huns must have been, roaring across this on horse-back in their thousands.

Intriguing and very beautiful. I imagined the Russian Steppes to be wide open spaces, a bit like the Prairies, but this landsacape seems to be very cultivated with remarkable field patterns.

Very nice and effective, I like the fields below the foamy clouds and the vanishing point. This encouraged me to upload the alps, but this is far better.

Thanks for the comments! I was a bit surprised myself how cultivated the land is, it was the first time I have flown over it.
