U class departure

Hand held taken from the castle with the Tamron 70-300, bracing myself against the castle's wall. Would the Pentax 55-300 be much better?

Nice capture. As you say, not a lot between those two lenses.

Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Did you need to brace yourself against the castle wall? 300mm at 1/400th of a second with Pentax in body stabilization and a steady hand any decent lens, like the two you mentioned, could handle this.
Nice picture and point of view.
