Tyldesley 2000 No 2

by johnriley

I thought I'd post a picture a day for a while, showing various "creative" images, plus an explanation of what they are about. We start with a Pentax MX shot, with the SMC Pentax 24,, f/2.8 lens. I was given the task of taking new shots of some early 1900s pictures of the locality. This one is printed in register with the photocopy of the original, with the operspective matched as closely as possible. The original was a full frame, but the photocopy had some miners in the foreground. By some optical effect the miners' eyes glared at me out of the tray in the darkroom. Scary stuff, like ghosts...so I cut the print to a different shape.

PS, for the ones who look, this has EXIF data indicating a Fuji camera, which is a consequence of the copying process. It's actually a Pentax film camera image, as indicated.

The cutting really does emphasise the perspective and gives the street even more length and distance.

I love it, but....! The cut out section is very distracting and somehow helps to highlight the fact that the remaining portion needs a slight rotation to the left!
