just a quick question if you don't mind along the lines of,
How do you find the new to you K3ii, compared to you're older K5iis ?
I ask this, as you have used the older K5iis extensively because a K5iis body with two batteries is currently available used in my neck of the woods at a very reasonable price even if I already own a K70.
Just thinking out loud as I was unsuccessful in trying to obtain a K5iis in the past and hence I purchased the K70 new at £350 from SRS, which was a no brainer at the time for value.

Hi Flan
My K5iis lasted a decade from new. I loved it. I did look at the K70 and KP as a replacement but the similarity between the 5 and the 3, as well as use of the same battery, was the deal breaker. And Reo's great offer sealed the deal.
The AF on the 3 seems more 'sure' to me. It can even track a bit, not something that I would use very often though.
I had to retrain my muscle memory a little as I use back button AF and the button is in a different place on the 3.
It might be my perception but the 3's viewfinder seems a little larger and brighter ( I haven't looked into that and they may be the same!).
The images....to me...different. The 5 shows less 'noise' at higher ISO's, by a stop? I also loved the 16mp sensor for mono conversions. The noticeable difference with the 3 is the extra detail captured. And, to me, the gradation of tones is very pleasant.
They both have great bodies, lots of buttons, and they both inspire confidence. I bought the 5 new as I had always wanted a top of the range body....the original 3 was out at the time that I got the 5 but was several hunderd quid more!
I hope this is of some help?
Any questions just drop me a line!

PS, forget about specs and speeds and everything else, the rendition, the look of the file, the visual differences in your own eyes.

I missed the last line about specs! Blimey.
K5iis I would use for mono. K3ii for colour.

Thanks for responding Simonmac, I was thinking about this K5iis purchase for an everyday walk about to have always in the car or cycling the bike, seaside or waterways along with my temperamental autofocus DA* 16 50mm SDM permanently attached.
A pro level build quality banger one dosent need to mollycoddle.
Thanks again and best of luck, Flan
