I've just been pulled up on my Flikr page.. Apparently this image is technically incorrect. A squaw would never be allowed to wear a Chief's head dress... !! So my apologies....

That's no squaw; that's Peutemia, the only female Chief of the Choctaws, who lived from 102-82 BC. Her exploits are recounted in the Gospel of Matthew and in MAD magazine. She is fully entitled to wear this headdress, and even if she isn't, since when did we succumb to PC peevishness?
