The pride of our Nation !
by Grodgeman
The Verne, the Wells, the Lucian, the Nautilus of the Air, the Babbage, and the Kipling demonstrate the expertise of our scientists, the prowess of our industries, and fill the skies with the might of our country !
The tableau did always seem incomplete and it was learnt later that, indeed, one ship was missing — from the lower middle slot.
The Moorcock was on a mission (and features in a different photograph).

Over the Loire estuary off St. Nazaire in France on the morning of 13 March 2016. The sky unexpectedly turned a clear gray and the airships appeared and sailed by in this formation for some instants broadcasting the message given above, and then suddenly disappeared. The few observers present all agreed that there must have been some kind of timewarp or other illusion and all went off for another apéritif. Luckily the photographer had his Kodak Brownie. He offers this photograph to Pentax users for a short while, but will in no way present it to a wider public as the authenticity of the image may be doubted and he is mindful of his good reputation.

If it were still here on the Ist April, any residual credibility regarding the photographer would jolly well go for a burton.

No. They just sailed by for a few instants and then popped out of the sky. As it is, I had to use Preview (Mac) and cut and paste to get the six of them. Managed later to get a snap of the seventh (the Moorcock - missing from the lower middle slot) when it was going round looking for "fugitives" (the survivors of the rebellion).

As some Frenchman said: "Vaut mieux en rire, car, de toute façon, on n'en sort pas vivant".
Meaning, in essence: "May as well laugh about it, because, in any case, we don't get out of it alive".
