Evening Jack, the answer to your question is I find it much easier to use the Tamron when out walking, simply because of its extra reach (180-300 with macro) it means I dont have to get as close to the subject as I would with the Sigma and maybe scare the thing off.
I use the Sigma for more static things on the tripod.

Hi Cliff,still taking cracking butterfly shots and still with your tamron.it gives great credit to you that you get great results from this sometimes awkward lens!!! There's me nagging my wife......I wanna a macro,I wanna macro!!!
