The Eagle Stone

Continuing our tour around Birchen Edge, this gritstone boulder is called the Eagle Stone. Apparently the local lads used to prove their manhood and impress their prospective brides by climbing up the stone in years gone by.

Its funny but this shot makes the stone look small too me, maybe its the long grass playing tricks and looking like normal grass clumps
