Hi tomkeet, a good shot which could be better by using a faster shutter speed when panning the swallow, either freeze the bird or freeze the background, and know doubt you know you have a wee spot of dust on your sensor. However still a good shot, but what do I know about it, it's just my wee time wasting hobby, hope you don't mind my comments, best regards Ron

Hi Bonnipics,
Agree with your comments, the spots were rain on the lens.
Just as well the K10D is weather proof, pity about the sigma lens!!

No probs, again most lenses stopped down to 1/2 way will give reasonable quality pics, but obviously trying to freeze a moving object requires a fast shutter speed and depending on the light it is not always possible to do so and the lighter quality lense can't provide the results at 1/2 to full open aperture, up the ASA setting one says but the results due to electronic noise can give you no better results. no replacement for winning the lottery and getting some real gear !! best regards Ron

PS My Wife would like a new house..... after the camera and gear I say!!

Like a bullet is right, not and easy thing to do, all the suggestions are right, but you have to catch up with the birds flight first .

Thank you for your comments/suggestions. Wished the bird had been sharper but then the effect might not have been the same.
Better still if it had not been raining !!

Just goes to show how aerodynamic they are though. Just wonder if Ron is a died in the wool European (ASA). Always worth squeezing the little silver button though. As for the debris on the sensor, I think stuff is sprinkled in at manufacture with the K10D.

Keep shooting
