It's a super picture but I think they detract from its central object - whatever it is that he's thinking about.

Well done on POTW CardiffGareth.
I am though inclined to agree with DavidWoz, in that the original same photograph you displayed in forum without the birds, contained all of the ingredients, freeing up the space as it were, which I found more intimate and captivating

Thanks all, well made up with the POTW news!
I guess it's a marmite shot. When I saw this image in Lr along the filmstrip, for me I thought, is this time passing him by, or maybe the letters from what he's reading are just spinning around in his head?!

As you're aware, Gareth, I so admire your work. This is a well deserved POTW. I would, however, have preferred to have kept just the person and not the birds. It would have made it 'cleaner' and more of a story for me. No matter what, yet again great work.
Be well, stay safe, but most of all, invest in memories
