Did you use "flash-fill"to get a perfect light on his face? A good tonal balance.

Thanks for taking time to comment. The main source of light was from above the conifers so I took some with and without fill flash, this one was with flash.

The flash helped nicely here, making it a nice clear photo. I suspect folk didn't hang around too long?!
