Stepping Stones

Photo Information
These are the stepping stones at Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire.

Bit of an adrenaline rush balancing across these with the tripod and camera...

I didn't even try to cross them when I was there. But it was worth your effort, I like it

Beautiful shot Dan, this would look gorgeous on a wall.
I love the composition, like an unravelled Andy Goldworthy sculpture.

Chicken! My wife started, then swiftly turned around and came back. She's not good with water, and I think she'd have freaked by the time she got to the middle (especially the wobbly stone ) so she made the right choice.

This weeks music competition mysteriously ends up here when trying to go from the first picture straight to the second.

It's a lovely photo that brought back memories for me. When I was about seven I followed my sister across until she stopped unexpectedly in the middle. This wrong footed me and I fell in, fortunately upstream, as there was quite a lot of water that day. It was a good job my mother wasn't far behind and she had hold of my coat hood very quickly and hauled me out.

I can vaguely remember being marched straight back to the car, as it was a cold day, and wearing assorted bits of everyone elses clothes until we got home.

Having told the story I'm now wondering if I'm getting confused with Hardcastle Crags, which was somewhere else we used to go. Does that have stepping stones too? Oh well, they're not that far apart...

Robert.

The competition obviously has impeccable taste.

Your story made me laugh Robert - my Mum wasn't there to catch me, so it was just as well I was sure footed.

Great shot Dan. The way my eye is led back and forth is uncanny.
