Looks like a fresnel lens in a lighthouse (?) It makes a great fantasy though.

Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

A lighthouse lens indeed. Ile de Sein, Brittany.
For those who grew up in a time when space/airships could still be made of heavy riveted or bolted metal plates.
