St.cathrines Church, sacombe.
K20D & Sigma 17-20.
I am constantly trying to get a satisfactory shot of stained glass church windows;try as I may,I cannot seem to hit what I really want. This is one of my nearest so far; Honest comments (good or bad) appreciated

Larry, this is so neat, I like the light and the soft tones very much. I hate it, but I have to say, before anybody else does,it needs just a bit of that notorious tilting to the left.

I agree with Nezih. It is a beauty shot with beauty colours and lights. But it has a distortion that was added to it by the wide-angle lens and the angle of the shot (you took it up a bit).
If you use a les with longer focal length, this effect will be smaller, but I think that you had to correct it during the PP.

I didn't dare to say it Nezih!
I love stained glass windows and photographing them however, I particularly like the effect of metering on the window and thus darkening the surround.
Nice window though Larry - from a Heathen!

I agree lads,but I dont know how to correct this.
However, Gabor has contacted me and kindly offered to explain.

Nice shot Larry. Forget about getting the surround correctly exposed, go for the coulourful glass, back lit of course, and under expose slightly so you don't blow the highlights.
